Primary Sampling
Step 1

시료 채취 (Primary Sampling)

커다란 톤백(Bulk Bag)에 담긴 가루에서 무작위로 뽑는 게 아닙니다.

  • 방법: '삼각 샘플러(Spear Sampler)'라고 불리는 긴 관을 백의 상단, 중단, 하단에 깊숙이 찔러 넣어 골고루 채취합니다.
  • 핵심: 가루가 이동 중에 무거운 금속은 아래로 가라앉고 가벼운 가루는 위로 뜰 수 있기 때문에(편석 현상), 전체를 대표할 수 있도록 다양한 지점에서 뽑는 것이 중요합니다.

시료 축분 (Reduction / Quartering)

채취한 수 킬로그램의 가루를 분석실로 다 보낼 수는 없겠죠?

  • 방법: '원추사분법(Quartering)'을 씁니다. 가루를 원뿔 모양으로 쌓은 뒤 4등분 하여 대각선 방향의 두 부분만 남기고 나머지는 버리는 과정을 반복해, 성분 비율은 유지하면서 양만 줄입니다.

Step 3

샘플 보관 (Sample Sealing & Storage)

정확하게 축분된 샘플은 철저하게 밀봉하여 보관 및 분배합니다.

  • 3등분 밀봉: 3개의 작은 밀봉백에 샘플을 나누어 담습니다.
  • 분배 및 보관: 1개는 판매자에게, 1개는 구매자(당사)가 보관하며, 나머지 1개는 추후 성분 관련 분쟁이 발생했을 때를 대비한 증거자료로 안전하게 남깁니다.

건조 및 분쇄 (Drying & Grinding)

  • 건조: 수분이 있으면 무게당 함량이 부정확해지므로 일정한 온도에서 바짝 말립니다.
  • 분쇄: 성분이 균일하게 섞이도록 아주 고운 입자(보통 100~200 메쉬 이하)로 더 잘게 부숩니다.

최종 분석 (Laboratory Analysis)

이제 이 고운 가루를 가지고 화학적 분석을 합니다.

  • ICP 분석: 유도결합 플라즈마(ICP) 장비를 써서 리튬(Li), 니켈(Ni), 코발트(Co), 망간(Mn) 등의 정확한 퍼센트(%)를 측정합니다.
  • 불순물 체크: 구리(Cu)나 알루미늄(Al) 같은 불순물이 얼마나 섞여 있는지도 이때 확인합니다.
